Advanced Certification
Level 2: 500 Hour
This
course builds on the Purusha Yoga 200 hour Teacher Training. It
also may be built upon the Purusha Yoga Therapy Foundation Course.
In
order to qualify for the 500 hour advanced Purusha Yoga Therapist
Certification one must have completed the Purusha Yoga 200 hour
Teacher Training course or a similar Yoga Alliance approved 200
hour basic training course.
Upon
completion of the Purusha Yoga Therapist Advanced Certification
you are entitled to call your practice and services Purusha Yoga
Therapy you are also entitled to call yourself a Purusha Yoga Therapist.
You will then be qualified to register with the Yoga Alliance as
a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. You will also have completed
a course that is registered with the International Association of
Yoga Therapists. (IAYT)
The
Purusha Yoga Therapy Advanced Certification course is part of The
Purusha Yoga School which is on the IAYT council of schools for
developing curriculum for schools dedicated to the practice of professional
yoga therapy and creating standards to differentiate the qualifications
and level of education between yoga teachers and yoga therapists.
In
the future we will simply call the advanced certification Purusha
Yoga Therapist Certification.

You
may take one level from any of these specialized trainings or learn
on a deeper level by taking both levels offered in that area and
achieve a higher level of expertise.
Note: By taking both levels offered in one area of expertise you
will often receive an additional certification in a specialized
yoga field.
4.
Practical teaching and coaching
_____ I have documented 100 hours of practical teaching and/or coaching
by filling out the grid provided.
These hours may be accumulated from the date of enrolling in the
Advanced Purusha Yoga Therapy Certification course.
Format:
The Purusha Yoga Therapy Foundation Course Is as
a 4 day course. You may begin with this or complete it at any time
in conjunction with your specialized focus module studies. The specialized
focus courses are usually offered as weekend courses but may also
be available in other formats. See current schedule.
Fees:
The fees for the specialized focus module courses are generally
$250.00 – 350.00 per weekend course. Most courses require
one weekend of training per each level of that course.
Enrollment fee for the Purusha Yoga Therapy Advanced training is
$250.00. When your training is complete review of your portfolio
of training and a personal assessment session of your skills by
one of the directors will be performed before certification is granted.
The final fee for this review and professional assessment is $250.00.
An average total of all of the 500 hour trainings and fees combined
is $2,500.00
The
Purusha Yoga Therapy Foundation course includes the following areas
of study:

Eight limbs of Yoga and their overall application to health and
healing: Asana, Pranayama, Yama, Niyama, Pratyahara, Dhrana, Dhyana,
Samadhi. (postures, breathing, life style choices, personal choices,
sensory perceptions, concentration, meditation, enlightenment.)

Understanding,
modifying and specific program design for common health concerns
such as; heart disease, diabetes, asthma, postural deviations,
back injury and care, depression/ anxiety, post traumatic Stress
Syndrome, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, cancer, osteoporosis
and more.

Health screening, postural analysis, fitness assessment, stress
assessment, blood pressure monitoring, general nutrition screening,
goal setting.

Designing programs to accommodate an individual’s life style,
needs and specific goals.

Practical Assisting techniques to use with individuals with specific
needs.

Business and marketing skills
-
Introduction to Chakra Therapy and it’s potential application

Introduction to Ayurveda and it’s potential application
-
Introduction to Yogic Nutrition and it’s potential application

Eastern and Western perspectives on the healing process and new
research on the mind/body connections for health and healing

In depth sutra study and yogic philosophy applied to today’s
life style choices and health concerns.
